Abstract

Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) for Maluku Province in May 2024 was 106.33 or an increase of 0.74 percent compared to April 2024 which was recorded at 105.55. The increase in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded to have increased by 1.90 percent and an increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded at 1.15 percent.
In May 2024, Maluku Province will be in 25th place out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 106.33. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 175.06; while the lowest NTP occurred in Southwest Papua Province at 98.62.
It was recorded that two subsectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the smallholder plantation crops subsector (2.40 percent) and the fisheries subsector (2.19 percent). Meanwhile, three other sectors experienced a decline in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (-1.65 percent), the horticulture subsector (-1.46 percent) and the livestock subsector (-1.21 percent).
In May 2024, the IKRT will increase by 1.26 percent.
Maluku Province's NTUP in May 2024 experienced an increase of 1.88 percent compared to April 2024, namely from 113.99 to 116.13.
