Abstract

  • Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.

  • In April 2024, Maluku Province will be in 27th place out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 105.55. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 175.63; while the lowest NTP occurred in East Nusa Tenggara Province at 98.34.
  • It was recorded that four subsectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the horticulture subsector (3.28 percent), the smallholder plantation crops subsector (3.13 percent), the livestock subsector (1.20 percent) and the fisheries subsector (1.23 percent). Meanwhile, another sector experienced a decline in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (-0.24 percent).
