Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
The Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) for Maluku Province in July 2023 was 104.33, down 0.41 percent compared to June 2023 which was recorded at 104.75. The decline in FTT was caused by the price index for agricultural production (It), which fell by 0.62 percent and the price index paid by farmers (Ib), which was recorded by 0.22 percent.
In July 2023 Maluku Province was in 26th place out of 34 provinces with a NTP of 104.33. The highest NTP occurred in Riau Province at 148.31; while the lowest NTP occurred in East Nusa Tenggara Province at 96.86.
Two sub-sectors recorded a decline in NTP, namely the smallholder plantation crops sub-sector (-1.28 percent) and the fisheries sub-sector (-1.01 percent). Meanwhile, three other sub-sectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (0.65 percent), the horticulture sub-sector (0.87 percent) and the livestock sub-sector (0.81 percent).
In July 2023 there was a decrease in IKRT of 0.23 percent.
Maluku Province's NTUP in July 2023 decreased by 0.67 percent compared to June 2023, namely from 112.36 to 111.61.
