Abstract

In March 2023, out of 90 CPI cities, it was recorded that all CPI cities experienced year on year (yoy) inflation (March 2023 to March 2022). The highest yoy inflation occurred in Tual City which experienced yoy inflation of 7.49 percent with a CPI of 117.19 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Merauke which experienced yoy inflation of 3.17 percent with a CPI of 112.59.
Ambon City experienced yoy inflation of 5.30 percent with a CPI of 116.04. Yoy inflation in Ambon City occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in the index in 10 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the transportation group at 14.73 percent; and the lowest was in the education group at 1.04 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the information, communication and financial services group by 4.09 percent.
Tual City experienced yoy inflation of 7.49 percent with a CPI of 117.19. Yoy inflation in Tual City occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in index in 9 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the transportation group of 25.42 percent; and the lowest was in the education group of 0.49 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the health group by 1.37 percent; followed by the information, communication and financial services group by 0.36 percent.
Month to month (mtm) inflation rate (March 2023 to February 2023) Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.16 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 0.44 percent.
Year to date (ytd) inflation rate (March 2023 to December 2022) Ambon City experienced inflation of -0.66 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 1.61 percent.
