In September 2023, of the 90 CPI cities, it was recorded that all CPI cities experienced year on year (yoy) inflation (September 2023 versus September 2022). The highest yoy inflation occurred in Manokwari which experienced yoy inflation of 5.26 percent with a CPI of 119.96, while the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Manado City and Gorontalo City which experienced yoy inflation of 1.16 percent with a CPI of 113.96 and 113.23.
Ambon City experienced yoy inflation of 3.04 percent with a CPI of 118.48. Yoy inflation in Ambon City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in 10 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the food, beverage and tobacco group at 5.67 percent; and the lowest in the equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group at 1.17 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the information, communication and financial services group at 4.8 percent.
Tual City experienced yoy inflation of 4.26 percent with a CPI of 119.9. Yoy inflation in Tual City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in 9 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 9.86 percent; and the lowest in the education group at 0.25 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced the highest deflation was the recreation, sports and culture group at 0.18 percent; and the lowest in the information, communication and financial services group at 0.18 percent.
Month to month (mtm) inflation rate (September 2023 to August 2023) Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.25 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 0.61 percent.
Year to date (ytd) inflation rate (September 2023 to December 2022) Ambon City experienced inflation of 1.43 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 3.96 percent.
