In November 2023, of the 90 CPI cities, it was recorded that all CPI cities experienced year on year (yoy) inflation (November 2023 versus November 2022). The highest yoy inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan which experienced yoy inflation of 5.89 percent with a CPI of 120.62, while the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Jayapura City which experienced yoy inflation of 1.82 percent with a CPI of 112.99.
Ambon City experienced yoy inflation of 2.96 percent with a CPI of 119.61. Yoy inflation in Ambon City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in 10 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the food, beverage and tobacco group at 5.27 percent; and the lowest in the clothing and footwear group at 0.52 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the information, communication and financial services group at 3.84 percent.
Tual City experienced yoy inflation of 3.15 percent with a CPI of 118.00. Yoy inflation in Tual City occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index in 10 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the transportation group at 9.71 percent; and the lowest in the education and health group at 0.25 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the information, communication and financial services group at 0.15 percent.
Month to month (mtm) inflation rate (November 2023 to October 2023) Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.56 percent, while Tual City experienced deflation of 0.51 percent.
Year to date (ytd) inflation rate (November 2023 to December 2022) Ambon City experienced inflation of 2.40 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 2.32 percent.
