Maluku Province Human Development Index (HDI) in 2021 reached 69.71, an increase of 0.22 points (0.32 percent) compared to the previous year's achievement. During 2010-2021, Maluku's HDI increased by 0.74 percent on average.

Abstract

  • The increase in Maluku HDI 2021 occurs in all dimensions, both long life and healthy life, knowledge, and a decent standard of living.
  • This is different from the increase in the Maluku HDI 2020 which is only supported by an increase in the dimensions of longevity and healthy life and the dimensions of knowledge, while the dimensions of decent living standards have decreased. In 2021, the decent living dimension as measured by average real per capita expenditure (adjusted) increased by 0.44 percent.
  • In the education dimension, the 7-year-old population has an expectation of 13.97 years of schooling (can undergo formal education), or equivalent to the length of time completing education up to Diploma I level. This figure is an increase of 0.01 years compared to 2020 which reached 13, 96 years. Meanwhile, the average length of schooling for residents aged 25 years and over increased by 0.10 years, from 9.93 years to 10.03 years in 2021.
  • In terms of health, babies born in 2021 have an expectation of being able to live up to 66.09 years, 0.11 years longer than those born the previous year.
