Abstract

The workforce in August 2021 is 860,344 people. The working population in Maluku in August 2021 is 800,755 people.
The Maluku Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in August 2021 is 65.75 percent. The male LFPR is higher than the female LFPR.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2021 was 6.93 percent. The TPT in urban areas is higher than in rural areas.
During the past year, the categories that experienced the largest increase in the percentage of the working population were the Transportation and Warehousing Category; Information and Communication.
In August 2021, 64.41 percent of the population worked in informal activities, and the percentage of informal workers decreased by 2.15 percentage points compared to August 2020.
In August 2021, there were 42.57 percent of the population working part-time (working hours of less than 35 hours a week) including 12.75 percent of the underemployed and 29.82 percent of part-time workers.
There are 127,678 people affected by Covid-19 or 9.76 percent. Consisting of unemployment due to Covid-19 (7,492 people), BAK due to Covid-19 (1,654 people), temporarily not working due to Covid-19 (6,530 people), and working residents who experienced a reduction in working hours due to Covid-19 (112,002 people)
