Abstract
The number of poor people in Maluku in September 2019 was 319.51 thousand people (17.65 percent). Compared to March 2019, the number of poor people increased by 1.8 thousand people, while in terms of percentage the poverty rate in Maluku in September 2019 decreased by 0.04 points. The role of food commodities towards the Poverty Line (GK) is far greater than non-food commodities (housing, clothing, education, and health). During the March 2019 period to: September 2019, Poverty Depth Index (P1) and Poverty Severity Index (P2) show an increasing trend. This indicates that in this period, the average expenditure of the poor tended to fall further below the poverty line and the inequality of expenditure of the poor grew even wider.
