Abstract

  • In March 2024, the Gini Ratio, which measures the inequality of expenditure among the population of Maluku, was recorded at 0.282. This figure decreased by 0.006 points compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2023, which was 0.288.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.277, a decrease from the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.288.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in March 2024 was recorded at 0.233, a decrease from the March 2023 Gini Ratio of 0.247.
  • According to the World Bank’s inequality measure in March 2024, the expenditure distribution for the bottom 40 percent of the population was 23.07 percent. This means that the expenditure of the population in March 2024 falls into the category of low inequality level. If detailed by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 23.46 percent and in rural areas at 25.37 percent, indicating that both are classified in the low inequality category.
