Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
NTP is an indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchangeability (terms of trade) of agricultural products for goods and services consumed and for production costs.
The Farmer Exchange Rate (NTP) for Maluku Province in January 2024 was 105.15 or down 0.67 percent compared to December 2023 which was recorded at 105.86. The decline in NTP was caused by the agricultural production price index (It) which was recorded to have increased by 0.31 percent and an increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib) which was recorded at 0.99 percent.
In January 2024, Maluku Province was in 28th place out of 38 provinces with an NTP of 105.15. The highest NTP occurred in Bengkulu Province at 160.12; while the lowest NTP occurred in East Nusa Tenggara Province at 97.73.
It was recorded that three subsectors experienced a decline in NTP, namely the horticultural crops subsector (-2.06 percent), the smallholder plantation crops subsector (-1.18 percent) and the livestock subsector (-1.11 percent). Meanwhile, two other subsectors experienced an increase in NTP, namely the food crops subsector (0.76 percent) and the fisheries subsector (0.83 percent).
In January 2024 there will be an increase in IKRT of 1.08 percent.
Maluku Province's NTUP in January 2024 experienced an increase of 0.14 percent compared to December 2023, namely from 112.58 to 112.75.
