In January 2024, year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Maluku Province was 4.12 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.84. The highest inflation occurred in Central Maluku Regency at 6.46 percent with a CPI of 106.15 and the lowest occurred in Ambon City at 2.74 percent with a CPI of 105.62.
Y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the expenditure group index, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 8.35 percent; recreation, sports and culture group at 4.85 percent; health group at 4.15 percent; personal care and other services group at 3.59 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 3.08 percent; transportation group by 2.25 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 1.71 percent; education group at 1.59 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.10 percent; and equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.50 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that experienced a decline in the index were: information, communication and financial services groups by 0.19 percent.
The month to month (m-to-m) inflation rate and year to date (y-to-d) inflation rate for Maluku Province in January 2024 are 0.19 percent each
