  • Farmers Terms of Trade (NTP) is a comparison of the price index received by farmers (It) to the price index paid by farmers (Ib).
  • NTP is one indicator to see the level of ability/purchasing power of farmers in rural areas. NTP also shows the exchange power (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed as well as for production costs.
  • The Maluku Province Farmers' Exchange Rate (NTP) in April 2023 was 103.29, up 0.13 percent compared to March 2023 which was recorded at 103.16. The increase in FTT was caused by the price index for agricultural production (It), which increased by 0.84 percent and the increase in the price index paid by farmers (Ib), which was recorded by 0.72 percent.
  • In April 2023 Maluku Province was in 26th place out of 34 provinces with a NTP of 103.29. The highest NTP occurred in Riau Province at 157.34; while the lowest NTP occurred in East Nusa Tenggara Province at 96.08.
  • Two sub-sectors recorded an increase in NTP, namely the food crops sub-sector (0.73 percent) and the smallholder plantation sub-sector (0.91 percent). Meanwhile, three other sub-sectors experienced a decline in NTP, namely the horticulture sub-sector (-3.08 percent), the livestock sub-sector (-0.24 percent), and the fisheries sub-sector (-0.13 percent).
  • In April 2023 there was an increase in IKRT of 0.79 percent.
  • Maluku Province's NTUP in April 2023 experienced an increase of 0.90 percent compared to March 2023, namely from 107.99 to 108.96.
