Abstract

In February 2023, out of 90 CPI cities, it was recorded that all CPI cities experienced year on year (yoy) inflation (February 2023 to February 2022). The highest yoy inflation occurred in Kotabaru which experienced yoy inflation of 7.88 percent with a CPI of 120.04 and the lowest yoy inflation occurred in Waingapu which experienced yoy inflation of 3.57 percent with a CPI of 112.74.
Ambon City experienced yoy inflation of 5.64 percent with a CPI of 115.85. Yoy inflation in Ambon City occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in index in 10 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the transportation group of 16.07 percent; and the lowest was in the equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance group of 0.98 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the information, communication and financial services group by 3.94 percent.
Tual City experienced yoy inflation of 6.73 percent with a CPI of 116.68. Yoy inflation in Tual City occurred due to price increases as indicated by an increase in indexes in 9 expenditure groups, namely the highest in the food and beverage/restaurant supply group of 20.58 percent; and the lowest was in the education group of 0.49 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure group that experienced deflation was the health group by 1.37 percent; followed by the information, communication and financial services group by 0.12 percent.
Month to month (mtm) inflation rate (February 2023 to January 2023) Ambon City experienced inflation of -0.61 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 0.64 percent.
Year to date (ytd) inflation rate (February 2023 to December 2022) Ambon City experienced inflation of -0.82 percent, while Tual City experienced inflation of 1.17 percent.
