Abstract

  • In September 2022, the level of income inequality for the Maluku population as measured by the Gini Ratio is 0.306. This figure is up 0.005 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.301 and decreased by 0.010 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.316.
  • The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.309, an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.297 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.302.
  • The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2022 was recorded at 0.261, an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2022 which was 0.259 and the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.250.
  • Based on the World Bank's inequality measure in September 2022, the distribution of spending among the bottom 40 percent is 22.40 percent. This means that population spending in September 2022 is in the category of low inequality. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 22.36 percent and for rural areas the figure was recorded at 24.45 percent, which means that both of them fall into the low inequality category.
