In August 2021, Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.11 percent. Tual City experienced inflation of 0.10 percent.

Abstract

  • In August 2021, out of 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 34 cities experienced inflation and 56 cities experienced deflation.
  • The highest inflation occurred in Kendari City at 0.62 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in Tanjung City at 0.01 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Sorong City at 1.04 percent. The lowest deflation occurred in Meulaboh City, Timika City, and Sukabumi City at 0.03 percent.
  • Ambon City experienced deflation of 0.11 percent with a CPI of 107.32. Tual City experienced inflation of 0.10 percent with a CPI of 109.47.
  • Out of 90 CPI cities, Ambon City's CPI ranking rose to 24th position. Tual City's CPI ranking is still at 4th position. Ambon City's monthly inflation is at the 53rd position, the calendar year inflation is at the 12th position, while year-on-year inflation is at the 89th position. Tual City's monthly inflation is in the 18th position, the calendar year inflation is at the 4th position, and year-on-year inflation is at the 4th position.
  • 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price declines or contributed to the biggest contribution to the deflation of Ambon City in August 2021, including: cayenne pepper, air transportation, red chili, bottled water, broiler chicken, preserved skipjack tuna, selar fish, red snapper , grapes, string beans.
  • 10 (ten) commodities that experienced price increases in August 2021 and contributed the largest to inflation in Tual City were: tuna, onion, kale, anchovies, white cigarettes, young papaya, filter kretek cigarettes, eggplant, lime/lime , and toothpaste.
