Abstract

In August 2022, out of 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 79 cities experienced deflation and 11 cities experienced inflation.
The highest inflation occurred in Ambon City at 0.82 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in Bekasi City at 0.12 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 1.65 percent and the lowest occurred in Depok City and Kediri City at 0.01 percent.
Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.82 percent with a CPI of 114.65. Tual City experienced a deflation of 0.91 percent with a CPI of 113.84.
Of the 90 CPI cities, Ambon City's CPI ranking rose to 10th position and Tual City's CPI ranking dropped to 19th position. Ambon City's monthly inflation was ranked 1st, calendar year inflation ranked 34th, year-on-year inflation ranked 4th. -14. Tual City's monthly inflation ranked 72nd, calendar year inflation ranked 81st, year-on-year inflation ranked 82c.
The 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price increases or contributed the largest to inflation in Ambon City in August 2022 were: kale, cayenne pepper, cooking oil, mustard greens, spinach, soup, shampoo, garlic, skipjack/fish scales and long beans.
The 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price declines or contributed to the largest contribution to the deflation of Tual City were: tuna/ambu-ambu fish, scad fish/benggol fish, white snapper/elbow fish, cooking oil, mackerel/bloated fish, kale, tomatoes, mustard greens, garlic and baronang fish.
