Abstract

The workforce in August 2020 was 839,190 people. There were 775,701 people working in Maluku in August 2020.

The Maluku Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) in August 2020 was 65.07 percent. LFP for men was higher than that for women.

The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) for August 2020 was 7.57 percent. The TPT in urban areas is higher than in rural areas.

During the last year, the categories that experienced the largest increase in the percentage of the working population were the categories of Government Administration, Educational Services, Health Services, and Other Services.

In August 2020, 66.56 percent of the population worked in informal activities, and the percentage of informal workers increased by 4.58 percentage points compared to August 2019.

In August 2020, there were 44.88 percent of the population working partially (working hours less than 35 hours a week) including 14.20 percent underemployed and 30.67 percent part-time workers.

There were 196,508 people affected by Covid-19 or 15.24 percent. Consisting of unemployment due to Covid-19 (7,768 people), BAK due to Covid-19 (2,151 people), temporary unemployment due to Covid-19 (14,150 people), and working residents experiencing reduced working hours due to Covid-19 (172,439 people) .
