Working Visit of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives

#SahabatData (07/12). Deputy for Social Statistics of BPS RI, Ateng Hartono and Head of BPS Maluku Province, Maritje Pattiwaellapia, received Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives who conducted a Working Visit to BPS Maluku Province.

In her Welcome Speech, Maritje hoped that Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives, which has a strategic role in the development of education, culture, tourism, and the creative economy, would be stronger in supporting data-based development in Maluku.

Present on this occasion, Mercy C. Barends, an Indonesian politician who serves as a member of the Indonesian House of Representatives who is a Representative of the Maluku Electoral District. He said that data is a primary need for policy makers. "The meaning behind the numbers is very large for regional development. Policy makers are required to use data to determine the direction of national development," he said.

The Heads of BPS Regency/City throughout Maluku Province were also present to convey their aspirations in order to obtain support from Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives for regional development policies.
