The number of labor force based on the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas) in August 2023 was 910,758 people, an increase of 42,177 people compared to August 2022. The Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) fell by 1.86 percentage points.
The working population is 853,254 people, an increase of 44,410 people from August 2022. The employment opportunities that experienced the largest increase were in the Wholesale and Retail Trade category; Car and Motorbike Repair and Maintenance, Providing Accommodation and Food and Drink for 36,688 people.
A total of 558,212 people (65.42 percent) worked in informal activities, an increase of 2.12 percentage points compared to August 2022.
The percentage of underemployed and part-time workers decreased by 1.37 percentage points and 5.05 percentage points respectively compared to August 2022.
The Open Unemployment Rate (TPT) in August 2023 was 6.31 percent, down 0.57 percentage points compared to August 2022.
