The percentage of poor people in Maluku in March 2023 rose to 16.42 percent

Abstract

  • The percentage of poor people in March 2023 was 16.42 percent, up 0.19 percentage points from September 2022 and up 0.45 percentage points from March 2022.
  • The number of poor people in March 2023 was 301.61 thousand people, an increase of 4.95 thousand people compared to September 2022 and an increase of 11.04 thousand people as of March 2022.
  • The percentage of urban poor population in September 2022 was 5.90 percent, decreasing to 5.49 percent in March 2023. Meanwhile the percentage of rural poor population in September 2022 was 24.54 percent, increasing to 24.64 percent in March 2023.
  • Compared to September 2022, the number of urban poor people in March 2023 decreased by 4.75 thousand people (from 48.08 thousand people in September 2022 to 43.33 thousand people in March 2023). Meanwhile, in the same period, the number of poor people in rural areas increased by 9.71 thousand people (from 248.57 thousand people in September 2022 to 258.28 thousand people in March 2023).
  • The Poverty Line in March 2023 was recorded at IDR 684,020/capita/month with a composition of the Food Poverty Line of IDR 502,215 (73.42 percent) and the Non-Food Poverty Line of IDR 181,805 (26.58 percent).
  • In March 2023, on average, poor households in Maluku had 6.16 household members. Thus, the average poverty line per poor household is IDR 4,213,563/poor household/month.
