In May 2022, Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.69 percent. Tual City experienced inflation of 1.22 percent.

Abstract

  • In May 2022, out of 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 87 cities experienced inflation and 3 cities experienced deflation.
  • The highest inflation occurred in Tanjung Pandan City at 2.24 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in Gunungsitoli City and Tangerang City at 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the highest deflation occurred in Kotamobagu City at 0.21 percent and the lowest occurred in Marauke at 0.02 percent.
  • Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.69 percent with a CPI of 111.76. Tual City experienced inflation of 1.22 percent with a CPI of 112.27.
  • Of the 90 CPI cities, Ambon City's CPI ranking fell to 30th position, while Tual City's CPI ranking rose to 21st position. Ambon City's monthly inflation was ranked 46th, calendar year inflation ranked 83rd, year-on-year inflation ranked 23rd. Tual City's monthly inflation ranked 10th, calendar year inflation ranked 84th, year-on-year inflation ranked 44th.
  • The 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price increases or contributed to the biggest contribution to inflation in Ambon City in May 2022 were: scad fish/benggol fish, skipjack tuna/scale fish, selar fish/tude fish, air transportation, filter kretek cigarettes, costs mobile phone credit, kretek cigarettes, water tariffs, prescription drugs and broiler eggs.
  • The 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price increases or contributed the largest to inflation in Tual City were: air transportation, scad fish/benggol fish, wardrobe, water spinach, anchovies, broiler eggs, red snapper, mobile phone credit charges, fish mackerel/bloated fish and rice with side dishes.
