Abstract

In December 2021, out of 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 88 cities experienced inflation and 2 cities experienced deflation.
The highest inflation occurred in Jayapura City at 1.91 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in Pekanbaru City at 0.07 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Dumai City by 0.13 percent. The lowest deflation occurred in Bukittinggi at 0.04 percent.
Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.79 percent with a CPI of 109.79. Tual City experienced inflation of 1.44 percent with a CPI of 110.34.
Of the 90 CPI cities, Ambon City's CPI ranking remains at the 10th position. The CPI ranking of Tual City rose to 6th position. Ambon City's monthly inflation was in the 32nd position, the calendar year inflation and year-on-year inflation was at the 4th position. Tual City's monthly inflation is in 5th place, calendar year inflation and year-on-year inflation are in 8th place.
The 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price increases or contributed to the largest contribution to inflation in Ambon City in December 2021 include: cayenne pepper, selar fish, red chilies, cooking oil, preserved skipjack tuna, broiler eggs, children's shoes, women's blouses, fish skipjack, and carrots.
The 10 (ten) commodities that experienced price declines in December 2021 and contributed the most to Tual City's deflation were: air transportation, tuna, cooking oil, baronang fish, cars, scad fish, cayenne pepper, rice, eggplant, and mackerel.
