Abstract

  • In May 2021, out of 90 CPI cities in Indonesia, 78 cities experienced inflation and 12 cities experienced deflation.
  • The highest inflation occurred in Manokwari City at 1.82 percent. The lowest inflation occurred in Tembilahan City at 0.01 percent. The highest deflation occurred in Timika City at 0.83 percent. The lowest deflation occurred in Palembang City at 0.02 percent.
  • Ambon City experienced inflation of 0.78 percent with a CPI of 106.48. Tual City also experienced inflation of 0.11 percent with a CPI of 107.43.
  • Out of 90 CPI cities, Ambon City's CPI ranking rose to 45th position. Tual City's CPI ranking dropped to 21st. Ambon City's monthly inflation was in 13th position, calendar year inflation was 43rd, while year-on-year inflation was 87th. Tual City's monthly inflation is at 64th position, calendar year inflation is at 60th position, while year-on-year inflation is at 42nd.
  • 10 (ten) main commodities that experienced price increases or contributed to the biggest contribution to inflation in Ambon City in May 2021, including: air transportation, selar fish, skipjack tuna, apples, long beans, spinach, kale, laptops, cooking oil, and oranges .
  • 10 (ten) commodities that experienced price increases in May 2021 and contributed the largest to Tual City's inflation were: anchovies, air transportation, cassava leaves, bananas, meat
