Abstract
The number of poor people in Maluku in September 2017 was 320,42 thousand
people (18.29 percent). Compared to March 2017, the number of poor people
decreased by 90 people, while the percentage of poverty rate in Maluku in
September 2017 also decreased by 0.16 points. The role of food commodities
against the Poverty Line (GK) is much greater than non-food commodities
(housing, clothing, education, and health).
In March 2017 period s.d.
September 2017, Poverty Depth Index (P1) and Poverty Severity Index (P2) showed
a downward trend. This indicates that in the period, the average expenditure of
the poor tends to get closer below the poverty line and the inequality of
expenditure of the poor is also reduced.
