Abstract

The labor force in August 2017 was 707,796 people. Population working in Maluku in August 2017 as many as 642,061 people. The Unemployment Rate (TPT) of August 2017 was 9.29 percent. In August 2017, 62.83 percent of the population worked on informal activities, and the percentage of informal workers fell 1.41 percentage points compared to August 2016.
Over the last year, sectors that experienced an increase in the percentage of working population were Trade Sector (2.50 percentage points), Construction Sector (1.26 percentage points), Community Service Sector (0.96 percentage points), and Mining Sector and Excavation (0.28 percentage points). In August 2017, 30.76 per cent of the working population was not full (hours less than 35 hours per week) covering 12.33 per cent of unemployed and 18.43 per cent of part-time workers
