Ambon, October 30, 2024 – Senior Statistician Expert of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Maluku Province, Charles Gigir Anidlah, was a resource person in the Coordination Meeting for the Preparation of Regional Food Balance Sheets organized by the Maluku Province Food Security Service. The event, which took place in Ambon, was attended by a drafting team consisting of various government agencies and related parties who focus on food security in the Maluku region.
In his presentation, Charles conveyed the importance of preparing an accurate food balance sheet as a basis for designing effective food security policies in Maluku Province. In addition, he explained about the use of data to project food needs needed to obtain a picture of the food needs of the community in Maluku Province.
Charles also emphasized the importance of coordination between various institutions and related agencies in providing complete and up-to-date data. "Accurate food data will help the government in designing targeted policies and ensuring the stability of food supplies to meet the needs of the community," he said in a discussion with meeting participants.
This coordination meeting activity aims to improve understanding and technical skills for participants in compiling regional food balance sheets. In addition, through this activity, it is hoped that the synergy between BPS and the Food Security Service and related agencies will be closer, so that food security data in Maluku Province can be relied on in decision making.
