Ambon, 18 April 2024 – Head of the Maluku Province Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Maritje Pattiwaellapia, officially opened the 2024 Anti-Corruption Behavior Survey (SPAK) Training at the Natsepa Resort Hotel, Central Maluku. In the opening ceremony, he underlined the importance of preventing corruption as a national priority and emphasized the importance of measuring corruption to produce effective evidence-based policies.
This training aims to prepare field officers to face new challenges in measuring corruption, which includes changes to survey instruments and methodology. This is done to support the achievement of the Anti-Corruption Behavior Index (IPAK) target in 2024 of 4.14 points on a scale of zero to five, which is part of the 2020-2024 National Medium Term Government Plan (RPJMN) for Law Enforcement.
Maritje advised officers to work carefully and dig out real answers from the public, as well as understand any changes that occur in the survey questionnaire. He also hopes that this training will increase awareness and motivation of officers to actively participate in eradicating and preventing corruption.
