COLLABORATION: THE KEY TO MALUKU'S ECONOMY FORWARD

Ambon, 16/11/2023 – Located at the Manise Ambon Hotel, Head of BPS Maluku Province, Maritje Pattiwaellapia SE, M.Si, officially opened the CVM (Chained Volume Measure) Based GRDP Rebasing Workshop and Regency/City Quarterly GRDP Calculation in Maluku Province 2023. Present as a resource person was Dr. Anton Lailosa ST, M.Si., and Dr. Fahrudin Ramly, M.Si. with material that focuses on the use of GRDP and Mohamad Arif Kurniawan, SST., MT. which presents material regarding CVM-based GDP/GRDP rebasing.

In his speech, Maritje said that economic growth is one of the National Strategic Indicators produced by BPS. He also emphasized the importance of collaborating together in the context of increasing economic growth for the welfare of society and that quality data is the key to understanding economic movements, identifying potential and problems, and designing effective policies.

"This is a very difficult challenge for BPS, because the supporting data required is very large and the calculation time is very fast. "So this is not just the work or responsibility of BPS, but it requires attention and assistance, collaboration and cooperation from all data providers, in providing data for calculating GRDP," said the Head of BPS Maluku Province.

Through the CVM (Chained Volume Measure) Based GRDP Rebasing Workshop and Regency/City Quarterly GRDP Calculation in Maluku Province in 2023, it is hoped that this can be an effective vehicle for building joint collaboration for quality data.
