The Population Census series was continued with field data collection in September 2020, after 15 February - 29 May 2020 successfully carried out the Online Population Census. The declaration of BPS readiness which was held in the title Kick Off for the September 2020 Population Census was also held at the BPS 10th Floor Auditorium which can also be watched online.
The Head of BPS RI, Suharyanto, said that later adjustments would be made regarding the implementation of data collection, one of which was by dividing the regions into three data collection zones. Adjustments were also made considering that this data collection was carried out during the Covid-19 pandemic. "Training, which is usually done face-to-face, is replaced through independent learning on TVRI and RRI. Health protocols are also strictly guarded. Census officers must take a rapid test first, and when in the field use a mask, face shield, gloves, and still maintain physical distancing, "added Suharyanto.
The Head of BPS Maluku Province, Asep Riyadi, accompanied by 6 (six) Heads of Divisions / Fields also witnessed the September 2020 SP Kick Off in the Maluku Province BPS Hall Room which was presented virtually. All staff from the Maluku Provincial BPS to the Regency / City BPS also watched it. This was done as a sign of the readiness of the Maluku Provincial BPS Civil Servants to carry out the September 2020 Population Census. Offices / Agencies in the scope of Maluku Province and Regencies / Cities throughout Maluku Province also witnessed the declaration of BPS readiness.
At the end of the event, Suhariyanto and BPS were well aware that the success of SP2020 depends on census officers and the community. "We hope the public will accept officers, because this SP is our collective responsibility in accordance with their respective portions and roles. For officers, I order them to carry out the mandate as well as possible, ”concluded Suhariyanto.
